20-годишната Ема Мейър се срещнала с 21-годишния Джеймс Катлоу, след като използвала „на шега“ сайта за запознанство на Тиндър. Тя обаче скоро открила, че двамата си пасват. Няколко месеца след запознанството им, когато Ема прегърнала Джеймс, тя почувсъвала, че на гърба му има някаква подутина. Тя го накарала да отиде при джипито си. „Смятах, че е някаква киста, но осъзнах, че може да е нещо по-сериозно“, заяви студентката от университета на Централен Ланкшир. Оказало се, че Джеймс страда от саркомата на Юинг – рядка форма на смъртоносен рак. За щастие Ема усетила тумора в ранния етап на болестта. През последните 13 месеца приятелят й се подложил на активно лечение, включително и протонна терапия в САЩ. Сега лекарите са установили, че той е „чист“. „Джеймс винаги казва, че аз съм спасила живота му. Но ако е така, аз не спасих само него. Спасих нашето съвместно бъдеще“, изтъква Ема.
